I have never seen any mention of a Lumberyard Skiff on these pages. However I have seen it mentioned on Wooden Boat Forum. Here's an informative link I found.

I see that you have found WoodenBoat Forum. Between these two forums you should be in pretty good shape. I see also that you have a lumbermill. What woods do you work with?

Mostly hardwoods .post.oak and red and white. Cedar. Hedge.ash hickory.walnut....most people bring me white oak
For cow trailer floors. And barn wood.
Some cherry now and then.my uncle brought over some pecan logs. And one huge mullberry.
The good stuff. What i would call top grade. I try to cutt on halfs. So little by little im getting my pile built up.
We cutt a logs for a very small log cabin and dovetailed the ends. Uncle thurman could cut the doves with a square.
Me? Im going to have to buy a jig. Ha. Uncle passed away. I miss him.

But my other uncles are all loggers. So that helps. But drivin this semi. Leeps me gone.
Dont have alot of time anymore. Between the cows and farm.hard to find time for the mill.

Tim,

Welcome.  What kind of Mill do you have?  I have been eyeballing a Woodmizer LT40 as of late.  The price is right, the hours low, and I have access to lots of logs.  I'm very interested in this as my next endeavor for personal and part time use.   I don't have dreams of full time sawing for profit, just enough to pay for the mill and use it for a few camps that we are working on in the next couple years.

Dave. Im sorry. You was asking about the LT40 .. those are good. A friend of mine has one. Its a good unit.
in fact ive gotten several ideals off his machine. And with a good shade tree mechanic .(my dad) we've improved
It quite a bit.
We have milled just about every thing you can mill on ours. Can go as big as 48" ...but handling logs that big
Will break your back. But luckily we have big farm tractors with front end loaders.
Many times i.ve had to just cut the slab. And maybe one or two flitches. Then unload log eith tractor. Turn over
And set log back on..

Dave ...im having a little trouble getting around on this site. With this too fancy phone.
My mill is a boardwalk bandmill. It started life as a simple manual mill. Worked ok for several years.
But ..manual is manual ..lol..im not a spring chickin anymore. And wrassling those cants with a cant hook eas killing my back.
Slowly we have improved it with steel base frame. And hydraulic log turner. And power feed. Using hydraulic orbit
Motors. The log turner is pretty much the same as a woodmizer. We welded 1/2 blocks on the bunker skids.
and use the turner as a clamp.
Works slick. Now i have a poor boy edger ..the power head. For up and down really saves time.
Someday i hope to install a simple electronic set works.
all in all ...guess what im trying to say is ...dont skimp on your mill. Get all the hydraulic options you can afford.
Took me years to get mine set where she.ll run with the big boys..lol.
