Nice work, Roger!  I have a soft spot for any woodworking project that incorporates multiple species of wood.  Your granddaughter chose her lineage well.

Nice fish!  As oarsman and presumed netman, you certainly did your job!  Congratulations to the lad, too. Got some muskie fishing in this fall and wish I could have done more.  I could develop a real jones for drift boating muskie…

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee, "That's not a net."  "THAT'S a net!!" As always, great video.

Nice work!  Love those toothy critters and big flies, too.  Is the angler in the third picture sporting a well-worn Hayward FF cap?

Jonathan Clarke replied to Dave Z's discussion 'First trout in the Flyfisher Skiff'
Dave,   Well, you certainly anticipated my next question.  Out here my answer to the impertinent question of "Where?" is "a Mississippi tributary."

Fine looking brown!  Congratulations. Perhaps you've supplied this information previously, but now that you have some experience with the skiff, how much water does it draft?

Jonathan Clarke replied to Greg Hatten's discussion 'Wood Boats and Coleman Lanterns'
Long years ago I had a job interview in Madras, of all places, and had the opportunity to get around Oregon a bit.  I can even say I fished the Metolius and the Deschutes.  I vowed to get back for an extended visit, but it…

Jonathon,
Thanks for the note. I think you can get one of those frying pans from Cabela's. That is where I got my last one. I live in Big Rapids, MI. I have a place on the Muskegon. I have always needed to be near water......

Thanks on the FJ comment... it was my "winter project" before the boat. It's a pretty rare one - 1983, last year they were made. Toyota only sent 300 over to the U.S. that year. It is as close to "Original" as I could make it.
Now it's a "Steelhead Chasin Machine" and will go just about anywhere.

Yup - just read a nice article about big smallmouth on the Menomonee. Pretty cool.

Thanks for the kind words about the boat.

I live in the western end of the state, but I've traveled and fished a little in northeast WI and in the U.P. and love both. The Menomonee River is a terrific drift boat destination.

I don't think Door County changes much. Parts of it are terribly commercialized while other parts of it remain pleasantly undeveloped. Three friends and I went fly fishing for carp on the flats on the lakeside last summer. Hadn't done it before, but would happily do it again and plan to do that next summer.

Hey Jonathan... nice boat and nice "pics" - love that Tatman!!! I lived in Green Bay for a couple of years and traveled the U.P. as a salesman. Is Door County still as pretty as I remember it??

Welcome Jonathan. It's good to see another Tatman on the water.
