has anyone put a self bailer in there ribbed boat. Am I screwing my self on wieght by decking out my ribbed boat (boat to be) construction has just resumed and this is a question I am pondering

I'd make the fore and aft decks LEVEL for the comfort of passengers and you, when friends row. It will drain just fine.

my thoughts:
If you're decking the thing, you won't be using it for fishing, correct? I think weight is much less of an issue if were talking about whitewater boats, so I wouldn't concerned about the added weight of a scupper.

I can't imagine installing a scupper would be any different in a framed boat than in a S&G...
