There are pictures of a guy building oars on here that might help you out, if you scroll back about a year through the pictures you will find them. There were a few old discussions on this a long time ago too, type in "oar" ,in the upper…

That turned out great ! You have made some really great boats in the last couple of years, I like the red, it really is bold. Keep up the good work, we are all jealous that you get to build so many boats !!!

You might try heating it up with a heat gun, I used oil based paint mixed with non skid powder they sell at home depot and it worked great for me. I would fiberglass it if I were you , and let the glass come up the side like 2 inches so it will keep…

I have never seen Formica on the bottom, did it hold up good ? To make things easy, you can just fill in the cracked rotten spots in the chine with thickened epoxy. The boat will look good having the original wood, and your thickened epoxy will end…

You did a great job on that boat ! I built the same boat years ago from those same plans. That is the most difficult way to build a boat, i almost had a nervous break down trying to figure it out. Mine did not turn out as nice as that one. Since…

I have done both the transom plug and one  in the floor right behind the front seat, i like having it right in the middle of the boat where water collects. The problem with having it up on the transom end is that it is hard to get water out if…

I use raka's micro balloons and love them, they sand super easy. The epoxy is a great deal too even with paying shipping cost it comes out to like 50 a gallon.

If it is a slow leak, just oar fast and bail it out when you get to the take out. If it is a huge leak and you can go to the hardware store you could get some spray foam and fill the crack up and let it cure for an hour or so, or get 5 minute epoxy…

i would deffinitly scarf them, you can buy a tool called a scarfer for $80 from west marine that will save you a lot of time and make a beautiful scarf. you just bolt it to your skill saw and run your saw through the end of both sheets.  I did…

It is a rainbow trout.  Most likely with the Palamino gene not an albino.  There is a body coloration gene for this "golden" or orange pigment.  In Mo they grow and sell them as golden trout and you sometimes can find them…

Maybe , it sure was pretty. It looked just like a trout, except that it was orange. I let it go but it sure would have been interesting to taste it and find out what color the meat was !

Hey Eric

I just saw the question that you asked me some time ago. The side panels are 24" front to back. The transom I made 15" so I could use a short shaft motor, that is to short it would be a lot better at 20".

Mike
