"sorry, i read your post wrong and thought i read chines instead of gunnels...lawrence is correct,use epoxy for this application and the lifecaulk for your chine caps.The chance of ever replacing gunnels is slim and as lawrence said heat will assist…"

About Me:
I work as a river guide for Wood Boat River Tours and work with AJ Derosa building,restoring and repairing wood drift boats.I built ,from scratch, a version of Buzz Holstrum's 2nd boat,the "Silver Steak"in 06-07 after reading Brad Dimmock's book The Doing of the Thing in 2006.AJ and I built a custom 20',6 passenger driftboat in 2009 to add to our fleet of wood drift boats we use to take clients down the Snake River to our tipi camp.

how I became a boat owner

Howdy randy,I'm unsure if my boat will make it to the show this year but I'll for sure be there with 5 or so others from jackson.Our restore project is very close to completion and that will be coming with us.It looks awesome! Hello Kevin, welcome to the forum! Are you bringing your streak to McKenzie River Show this year? It will be good to see you again.

It would be great if you could blog about how you decided on that boat and the progress of putting it together. That's now an important part of current boat building knowledge.
