launched the boat in a lake to day to see how it floats. I just loved it. I still have to install an anchor and finish my oars. thanks for all the info on this site.

Peter, Sounds like you are on the right track, suggestions would be: Rowers Seat: 16" like you said, adjustable is nice so you can move it forward if you have a rear passenger, too many people let their transom (rear) plow in the water turning…

OARLOCK & SEAT PLACEMENT

I am building a double ender with transom 16'x48"+-. i will be fishing with 0, 1, or 2 other people in the boat. I have never rowed a driftboat in my life. i am thinking that i am going to make the rowers seat 16" above the plywood bottom and adjustable, the front seat 12" above the plywood bottom and adjustable. where do i place the oarlocks? i will place muliple oarlock locations (4) i think so i can trim the boat properly. is there a recomended distance from the front of the seat to the…See More

my shop runs 55-60 deg in winter. I use system 3 with fast hardner( don't know what the number is) Based on that I would say you are good to go- unless your hardner is the slow ,then i think it likes higher temps. As suggested cut out the…

it has hardened it is usually tacky free in 18 -24 hrs. i just do not know how soon i can put a little stress on the joint.

5 days at 60 degrees? still tacky or is it hardened? if its not cured by now, sounds like it won't. unless theres something I don't know about System 3??? could you have gotten a bad mix?

For a bottom? You're ok right now. You are going to be nailing thta 1/2" down on ribs, and I'm assuming your joint will fall right on one of them or between them. If you got a good mixe, I'd probably not worry about it now. One…
